Save Maui Cats could not have launched our website, created our video or fed and fixed our island's homeless, hungry and forgotten cats without the additional help of these fine folks. They shared their extraordinary talent and their generous hearts. We are eternally grateful.
Within the Department of Environmental Management, the Environmental Protection & Sustainability Division guides and funds environmental initiatives around natural resource protection, sustainability, conservation, and restoration. In addition, they foster partnerships with government agencies and community leaders to enforce environmental legislation and support innovative programming, community-based initiatives, and public education. The newly established EP&S focuses on a wider set of environmental issues facing Maui County and is developing initiatives such as Mineral Only Sunscreen Maui County and the Recycling and Green Grants Programs.
We are pleased that through their Green Grants Program they are able to support environmental nonprofits - made up of people who truly want to make a positive difference on Maui. We at Save Maui Cats are profoundly grateful for their recognition and support and will endeavor to continue to make them proud. Because of their generosity, we will be able to continue our mission by helping to humanely reduce the number of unwanted new cats on Maui, while maintaining the lives of healthy fixed cats island-wide.
EP&S is committed to building a sustainable community with Mālama ʻĀina as its guiding principle. For more information about their invaluable programs, including Recycling, Abandoned Vehicles, Metal & Litter Control, and Environmental Programming, please visit them at:

ASSERT DISASTER ANIMAL RESCUE. They've rescued animals from Ukraine (twice) and from both the Paradise and Camp fires in California.
Assert's volunteers are trained to rescue pets, livestock, native and exotic animals and act in accordance with all governing agencies while maintaining safety standards for all. Unfortunately they were not permitted into the Burn Zones while helping Save Maui Cats, but that didn't deter them. Instead they humanely live-trapped and saved dozen's of cats on the fire's perimeter, many of whom suffered from burns, smoke inhalation, and dehydration. These cats and kittens would not have survived without Assert's help.
And if that's not enough, they built (4) cat enclosures to make room for al those cats to rest and recuperate until we can find safe alternatives for them. We can't say enough about Ryan and his team and are awed and humbled by their support and true love for animals.
Thanks to a generous grant provided by the
Doris Day Animal Foundation, we are able to continue to save the lives of cats on Maui
- while reducing overpopulation through
our TNRM efforts.
This incredible organization came through for us during the Maui fires and because of them, we have been able to provide necessary care
for many of Maui's burned and fire-affected kitties. They thank you and so do we.
Thank you Doris Day!!
Occasionally Rescue Bank and Greater Good Charities has a little extra food that they send our way. Save Maui Cats depends on their donations and are extremely grateful for their contribution. To learn more about how they help people who help animals, click here.
Love our logo? So do we! We searched high and low for an artist who's work could tell our story. We finally found illustrator Mike Paul online and knew he was the artist for us! View more of Mike's artwork at: mikepaulart.com

Protecting all creatures from mauka to makai.
Although located on the big island of Hawaii, HAKA immediately jumped in to help during the August 2023 fires. Despite also being a small animal rescue nonprofit, they funded their team's own transportation and generously shared their resources with us. They helped us safely and successfully rescue animals from the fires that otherwise wouldn't have stood a chance. The HAKA team are lifesavers in every sense of the word and we - and the animals of Maui - owe them an enormous debt of gratitude.
Many Maui residents and business owners have reached out and helped our cause by offering to feed cats in their community. Others came forward to adopt a lifelong friend. Thank you to everyone who continues to support us!
