and forgotten cats of Maui
Save Maui Cats is a volunteer based, non-profit rescue, dedicated to the island's homeless, hungry and forgotten cats.
It's hard to imagine that a paradise as beautiful as Maui has thousands of starving and neglected cats and kittens struggling to survive in its jungles and beaches, on its streets and in its neighborhoods. Sadly, most kittens don't survive their first year. But Save Maui Cats is here to help!
We provide food and water to hundreds of grateful cats every day while helping to trap, transport, spay, neuter and vaccinate hundreds more. We are actively decreasing the number of homeless cats on Maui, by:
Just this year alone, we've trapped and helped fix over 300 of the island's homeless cats. These are the lucky ones who, while still living on the streets, have a committed volunteer who brings them food and fresh water every day. These cats have a chance at life without burdening the community with more unwanted kittens. To donate cat food, flea medicine and other contributions, please visit More Ways To Give.

Dreaming of a brighter future...
SPAYING AND NEUTERING IS THE ANSWER
There are tens of thousands of cats and kittens on this island that still need to be fixed - and who are counting on us for their survival. Although we are a small group of volunteers, we are dedicated and strong. And we are making a big difference.
We're proud of our accomplishments but we need your help!
Supporting Save Maui Cats' efforts will help put an end to Maui's cat overpopulation, ensuring a brighter future for everyone.

TNRM, otherwise known as 'Trap-Neuter-Return-Manage' is the only humane, effective approach for homeless cats. A group of healthy, fixed cats living harmoniously together is known as a "colony." Colony cats are humanely trapped, spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and eartipped (the universal symbol of a fixed and vaccinated cat), and then returned to their outdoor home where a caretaker provides regular food, water and shelter. Socialized cats and kittens are adopted into homes.
As a result, the colony’s population stabilizes—no more unwanted kittens! Trap-Neuter-Return-Manage improves their lives and their relationship with the community: behaviors and stresses associated with mating stop. Learn more about TNRM here.
